Food Network Yukon (FNY)

In collaboration with the Arctic Institute of Community-Based Research, the YAPC has been facilitating a network of over 70 individuals in the community who are involved in issues related to food and food security. The FNY's vision is evolving and the group's discussion surrounds food sovereignty and food security in the Territory. Our meetings are held at the YAPC office, 509 Steele Street. Housing Task Force

Formed in Fall of 2008, the Housing Task Force currently has 50 members. Chaired by Bill Thomas, this group educates, advocates and acts on issues related to shelter and housing. The Housing Task Force meets monthly to discuss and act on immediate issues raised by members of the community.

Poverty and Homelessness Action Week (PHAW)

Held every October, PHAW is designed to raise awareness and promote action to end poverty and homelessness in the Yukon. Started in 2005, PHAW has grown to include activities sponsored by a wide cross section of organizations, individuals, businesses, churches, schools and local media. PHAW 2019 is set for October 15th to 22nd and is being led by graduates of the Voices Influencing Change program.
